Allergens and dietary information

Every dish on Munchabout carries allergen information declared by the restaurant that cooks it. Here is how it works, and what to do if you have an allergy.

What restaurants must declare

A restaurant cannot publish a dish on Munchabout without declaring which of the 14 major allergens it contains, or explicitly confirming it contains none. Options and add-ons carry their own allergens. The 14 are:

  • Celery
  • Cereals containing gluten (such as wheat, rye, barley and oats)
  • Crustaceans
  • Eggs
  • Fish
  • Lupin
  • Milk
  • Molluscs
  • Mustard
  • Tree nuts
  • Peanuts
  • Sesame
  • Soya
  • Sulphur dioxide and sulphites

When you see it

  • As filters when you browse and order, so you can hide dishes containing an allergen.
  • On each dish, before you add it to your basket.
  • On your order and receipt, which you can check at the door.

Allergen and dietary filters

Allergen filters and dietary filters such as vegetarian, vegan, halal and gluten-free use what each restaurant has declared about its own dishes. The restaurant's information is the source of truth; Munchabout does not certify it. If it matters for your health or your faith, check with the restaurant.

Who is responsible

Each restaurant is responsible for the accuracy of its allergen information. If you think a dish is labelled wrongly, report it from your order and we will follow it up with the restaurant.
